“The beat goes on” for iPod and news has it that detail about Apple’s iPod’s revamp is to be disclosed on Wednesday.
Apple’s iPod has not made some major updates on its MP3 player since October of 2005. According to a principle analyst Rob Enderle (Enderle Group, Silicon Valley California), Apple’s move to revamp iPod could create possible disappointments from iPod fanatics. The revamped iPod is expected to carry enhancements, from being a wireless player to better video viewing capabilities.
The best part of this revamp is that Apple’s iPod maintains the legacy Apple carried all these years. Apple is a leading music player carrier since it introduced the very first MP3 player in 2001. It is expected that Apple’s revamped music player is a discounted gadget because its mobile phone feature was not included in the new player. This may stir some frenzy talks among Apple’s fans but considering the discount of around $200, consumers would be more than delighted to accept the new features of iPod.
iPod’s move to meet the consumers’ needs on affordable players made Apple decide a critical move to refuse compromises in selling iTunes to NBC on an increased price. Apple made the same decision with Universal Music in making Apple’s music catalog on iTunes for the same reason.
With the growing speculations on how the new iPod functions, Apple’s fans have high expectations on iPod’s innovative features. With much consideration on consumers’ needs for affordable music players bearing the level quality of the Apple’s products, the revamp on this gadget is very timely.
